Archie Rose X Horisumi Rare Gin ‘Autumn’

In collaboration between Sydney’s Archie Rose Distillery and acclaimed Japanese Style tattoo artist [and Inked columnist] Kian ‘Horisumi’ Forreal, ‘Autumn’ is the first in a series of four rare gins, which celebrate the uniqueness of each Japanese season in art and taste.

Inspired by a mutual respect for nature and the hand forged, Horisumi Autumn accentuates the spice-driven notes of red miso, sesame seed and sansho pepper, making for a complex, savory gin.

With an emphasis on deeper, earthy characteristics underpinned by spice, Horisumi Autumn offers gentle warmth as the evenings begin to cool.

Taking cues from Japanese ingredients, the result is a spice driven style of gin with juniper present but playing a supporting role to these characteristics.

The concept and original artwork was created by Horisumi whilst Squad Ink Design crafted the label and bottle design. March marks the release of ‘Autumn’ and this will be followed the rest of seasons with their own botanicals and different artworks… This was a labor of love for all involved as our time and energy directed into this project was not for financial gain but for the love of art and handcrafted goodness! We all truly believe in the project and we are very humbled to see the concept and artwork come to life after months of planning and hard work.

Don’t miss out! We hope you enjoy the first installment of four in our gin releases. Buy 1 to drink and 1 to keep… as the series will be very collectible once they are all released! Note: the first 200 bottles of each release will be hand wrapped in a furoshiki wrap featuring the individual bottle number and Autumn kanji.” Cocktails made using Horisumi Gin can be had at the Archie Rose Distllery Bar at 85 Dunning Ave Roseberry and bottles can purchased direct from the bar or online at – you can also pop into Authentink Studio in Surry Hills and have a chat with the staff there for a taste as Horisumi has some samples for his clients to try! Enjoy

We’ll let you know about Winter, Summer and Spring as they hit shelves!
